There's a Snake in my Boot

Have I mentioned my job this summer is reading like a madwoman? It's so sad that exercising your brain doesn't burn more calories, I mean it's not like I'm breaking a sweat but man is my noggin workin hard.

Luckily, Mike planned a night out complete with dinner, some shopping, and a movie to give me a night away. He is heading to Milwaukee this weekend for a bachelor party (congrats Brandt and Lindsey!) so we wanted to do something before he left.

After dinner and some shopping at Old Navy (ps- Old Navy is offering 30% off everything in the store this weekend!) we went to see Toy Story 3!!!!  I love the Toy Story saga. Mike even gave me the Toy Story 1 & 2 DVD combo pack for my birthday one year (in fact, I owe half my movie collection to Mike because for the first 2 years of our relationship he gave me movies for every present-exchanging occasion because he was nervous to give me anything else... needless to say, the year I got a pair of pants for my birthday... I knew things had become serious between the two of us.)


I wasn't sure what to expect but this movie did not disappoint!! Although my heart will always be with the original, according to Mike and I this one was better than the 2nd. We were both in tears by the end. It's a perfect way to end the series.

Thank you Pixar for enriching our lives with the stories of Andy's toys... and so many other stories throughout the years. Keep it up!!

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
