A goal for 2010

Though I'm really not big on making new years resolutions, I have decided to give myself a goal for 2010: become a better cook.
I have a pretty healthy outlook on food. By this I mean, I understand what my body needs and have a healthy perspective on what is too much and too little and how it feels to my body. I'm also not a really big eater. Since getting married I've realized that, although having a piece of chicken and some vegetables is enough for me, it is not enough for Mike. When is comes to meals, we have very differing opinions!
So, for 2010 I have decided to educate myself a little more on well balanced and satisfying meals that can suite both of our tastes. Mike is not a fan of most fruits or vegetables so I need to figure out a smart way to incorporate these into our diets. I am open to any and all suggestions in this area! I'll keep you posted on the recipes I try!

PS- I have always loved cooking shows and when I was a little girl I used to perform cooking shows on my deck. I would make various salads out of leaves and grass, mmmmmmm!
Now... if I can just channel that part of me again!

  1. Hi Sarah!

Have you tried fruit smoothies? I tend to make them on the weekends with bananas that are too ripe and some frozen fruit in the freezer. I add milk, oj, and a couple of ice cubes. It's a great and refreshing way to incorporate your daily dose of fruits!

I am also a firm advocate of the crock pot, which I know you are getting into as well. It's a great way to cook on those nights that you are too tired to cook.

Hope that help! PS your blog is great :)
