Kid Funnies

Although my class this year has presented me with some tough challenges, they never fail to crack me up!

Every 6 weeks, my class has a round of Guidance. This means our guidance counselor comes to our class to talk with our kids about problem solving, good-touch/bad-touch, etc. The lesson taught on this day was about the feelings we have and how to identify and deal with our emotions. After the lesson, we played Secret Scrap (this is where I choose a secret scrap in the room and the kid who picks it up and throws it away wins a treat, this is a great way to get the room picked up fast!). Well one little boy was sure he would find the scrap so he set off like a bandit! Unfortunately, he did not pick up the scrap and became very upset about this. He was sitting backwards in his chair with his head hung in defeat. To try and help I said, "it's okay buddy, we'll play this game again, there's no reason to feel sad,"

To which he responded... actually he shouted back at me, "Mrs. K says its appropriate to identify our feelings!" baahahahahahah

My very first class!

Yesterday, the kids were getting ready for recess (which is always a fun thing to watch) and one of my boys came into the classroom teary eyed and weeping. He looked at me with those alligator tears in his eyes and said, "Mrs. Pentek, I'm looking for a glove... it looks just like this one... only the thumb is on the other side!"
bahahhahahaa

You simply couldn't pay me enough money to do anything else. I love my job!
