Jackson's First Big Outing
On Saturday we ventured up to Ames to watch Mike play in the Iowa Games. To tell you the truth I sort of suck at attending Mike's soccer games. He plays in the spring, summer, and fall and I can probably count on one hand the times I've gone to watch him play. I really don't have a rhyme or a reason for this except that I see him playing soccer as "his thing" so he goes, has fun, comes home... no big deal. He does like it when I go to games though so it's a good thing Jackson has added a bit more motivation for me to attend. I was a little nervous for our big outing last Saturday but I'm happy to report he did awesome! The temperature was perfect so we weren't at risk at all for him overheating (which is definitely a concern when it's too hot) and he loved being outside and meeting anyone and everyone who walked by as we watched Mike's game.
Around half-time Jackson starting mellowing out because he was pretty tuckered out. I didn't get to actually watch much of the game because my eyes were on Jackson to make sure he didn't get into anything he shouldn't but it was still a fun outing. I was pleasantly surprised at how polite everyone was while we were there; everyone asked if they could pet him first before approaching him. He sure was a hit and loved all the attention! He fell asleep on the ride home, woke up to eat lunch, then passed out in his crate for the next 4 1/2 hours :). Such a sweetie.
