Introducing: Jackson
He's here.
Allow me to introduce...
Jackson. The newest member of the Pentek family. We picked him up yesterday and he has since braved the car ride and a trip to the vet this morning. So far so good although we got very little sleep last night. By we I mean Mike and I, Jackson slept like a champ. He woke up twice to go out which is to be expected but other than that he was out like a light (which our breeder did say might happen because of the move). Mike and I, however, were so "on guard" I don't think either of us slept at all.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming is one of Mike's most favorite places on earth and it's where we took our first big vacation together. We thought it'd be a good name for our first dog, minus the hole, that'd be cruel I think.
The picture above is him in one of his favorite spots in the house so far. We arranged our furniture in the living room to create a play area he can't leave which has worked well so far. He's certainly gaining confidence and is starting to explore nooks and crannies of the house.
I tried real hard to catch him looking at the camera but puppies are fast. His breeder began teaching his litter to sit and wait patiently for their food at 6 weeks old. He's such a good boy that he naturally does this now when we give him his food. He just sits and stares at us waiting for his cue.
He's pretty cute and we can tell he's becoming more comfortable with us and our routine. We shall see what the next days and weeks bring!
