Bossy Pants

I was home for a short while at the end of May and my brother was talking about how he needed to read Bossy Pants for his high school English class. I caught Tina Fey on Inside the Actor's Studio where this book was mentioned briefly and decided I too wanted to read it. From the time it finished loading into my ibooks I believe it took me all of 60ish hours to complete. Obviously it's not a gripping thriller or anything but it is Tina Fey! She's an amazing writer and she's so damn funny. The book takes you through her life and each chapter highlights a point in her life that either holds a significant memory or helped her move forward into the life she has today. She has a way of writing about her own experiences and explaining life lessons without sounding preacher like. Most of the book is laced with an element of practical sarcasm which had me hooked from the first word. You'd think, with a description like that, it'd also be laced with an element of cynicism but that's not the case; at least I didn't think so. One of my favorite chapters is one in which she describes her father, Don Fey. Read it. You'll be laughing out loud every two-three pages guaranteed.
You just can't deny her intelligence and sense of humor and it you ask me women everywhere could use more role models like her. I recommend this book to anyone, you won't be disappointed.
