Much Needed Reunion

I was lucky enough to get together with some of my fabulous college girlfriends this week. It's always so refreshing to spend an evening with wonderful women who have known you for a bit longer than you care to admit (because that would mean we're getting old). People always said you don't fully appreciate your college friends until your college days are gone and I think I know what they mean. There is a definite level of comfort with these friends that can really only come from living in a house together for 3+ years. I'm not sure I can pin-point it exactly, but I love it! Now we are all grown up... I'm so proud!

Our hosts for the evening whipped up a great Mexican meal, yum-o! Great food, a lot of laughs, and a fair amount of wine = a great time!

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. I have found my favorite things about Iowa categorize themselves into seasons, which is how I will present this lovely state to you today. Summer/Fall One of our absolute favorite things about Des Moines is the farmer’s market ! Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
