... that's how long we have been together!

This was taken the very first night we started showing an interest in each other. It's crazy how time flies!

One of my favorite memories from our dating days was our 1 year celebration trip to Chicago. Mike planned the whole weekend which included Shed Aquarium and Navy Pier. We took a water taxi from the aquarium to Navy Pier and it was windy and spitting rain! Water came over the sides of the boat a couple times and my hair was totally ruined =(. I remember asking to take a trip to the bathroom once we arrived at Navy Pier to freshen up. Mike didn't care though =)

This is the only picture I have of this weekend, taken outside Shed Aquarium. My 1 year gift to Mike was a scrapbook with pictures of us and quotes from songs I liked... gosh that really shows how young we were. He still has it too... it provides a nice chuckle every once in a while, haha! Wondering why this weekend didn't include any bar stops... oh yeah because we had both just turned 20!!!  geez
I think we did sneak a bottle of Andre into our bags... keepin it classy in Chi-town 

Here's to the last six and a half years, hubby, they've been a blast ;)

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. I have found my favorite things about Iowa categorize themselves into seasons, which is how I will present this lovely state to you today. Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
