Spring Redecorating

It is a rainy, rainy day here in Des Moines so I decided to do some much needed decor updating in our bedroom. We got some very cute wall decorations and picture frames for our wedding and, I have to admit, they have been sitting in our closet since we came back from our honeymoon... in August! So, it was time :).

The sign above the dresser was given to us from my mom's co-worker at our couples shower. The text in the middle says, "Always kiss me goodnight," and the background text says, "Always & Forever." It definitely adds some warmth to the room. I thought it'd be appropriate to place our unity candle underneath.

The picture frame in the back was a gift from one of our college friends. Originally I had one of our engagement pics in it, but as I looked at the other pictures in our room I realize we had a lot of pictures of us (and we haven't even framed any of our wedding pictures yet!). I have a little white box labeled, "Mike's Box" that is filled with cards and such from our dating years so I decided to look through it to see if I could find something better to place in the frame. I found a card Mike had given me for our 2 year anniversary. It says, "So often you cross my mind. And I think, 'I am so lucky.'" I loved it and it brings back memories of our trip to Chicago to celebrate... we ate dinner at Gejas, aka the most amazing dinner of our lives! If you live in or like to visit Chicago and you've never been, go... soon... it's incredible :).

Lastly, my Aunt Liisa and her family gave us this adorable memory board that I have finally placed on our wall! It's quite simple now but I will ponder it for a while before adding/rearranging. It's the coolest board (from Creative Memories) The inside is magnetic and it came with very strong little stylish magnets to hold things in place. The "clothseline" is a black ribbon and, again, the board comes with the cutest little black clothespins. For now, I decided to put our wedding invitation as the focal point and various cards and invitations from the planning process. From the left I hung our Save the Date card, the middle two are shower invites, and the last card is the invitation to our rehearsal dinner.  It's great for now and I can't wait to rearrange items as the inspiration comes to me!

*Side note*
I hadn't looked at our invitations for a while and I remembered how much I love them! I think I could stare at them all day, they are beautiful, and there is still a small part of that still thinks, "oh my gosh, that's my name... and Mike's name... and we got married!" hehe
