Lost in a daydream

I believe I have been hit by a small spring fever bug that seems to have put me in a daydream all day. This morning, while getting ready for work, I heard something about first time home buyers and was instantly sent into a head spin. Thoughts of our future began dancing in my head... what will our first home be like (please god let it be bigger than our current apartment), where will it be... we'll be able to get a dog once we have our own place, I wonder what kind of dog it will be... and on and on. I almost missed my exit this morning, that's how bad it was! There is a small hopeless romantic in me that truly loves the feeling of a great daydream so I was a little bummed when I got to school and had to pull myself back into reality. 


Mike went to poker tonight so I went for a walk (one of my favorite SSB's, secret single behavior's). It was wonderful and absolutely refreshing. The smells, the sounds, the people out and about... all made me so giddy, and it's just the beginning! 

Spring is here people!
(someone please remind me of this post if, by chance, we get another snowstorm within the next month...  boo-hiss)

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. I have found my favorite things about Iowa categorize themselves into seasons, which is how I will present this lovely state to you today. Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
