Honeymoon Day 2...

On the second day of our honeymoon we decided to venture to the other side of the island of Maui to experience The Road to Hana, a Hawaiian adventure we were told we had to do. As we left the resort side of the island, we noticed the weather changed quite a bit... the beautiful blue skies over our hotel changed to huge gray clouds. This was the point in our adventure where I had the feeling things would not go as planned.
Now, the Road to Hana is supposed to be a gorgeous long winding road through one of the most scenic parts of Maui. Well, we made it about half way. Why you ask....
because it was freakin' raining.
Yup...in Hawaii...raining...the whole time.
We did find a neat little garden type area where we stopped to get some pictures. I wrote the place off quickly because I asked the man at the entrance if it was a nice day yesterday and he said, "oh yeah, we had nothing but sunshine all day." great thanks a lot

We were able to take a few pictures, but you can even tell in this picture that its raining because of the blurriness.
Mike said we had to get a picture of our adventure. I'd like to point out that the smile on my face is there purely to humor my loving new husband, it does not reflect the mood I was in at the moment. I was so disappointed! Luckily, we were able to return to our hotel in one piece and salvage the sunshine still left.

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. I have found my favorite things about Iowa categorize themselves into seasons, which is how I will present this lovely state to you today. Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
