Fun in Des Moines

We had a great weekend with our friends in Des Moines. We went to a new bar (well, new to us) called Heroes. Basically, it is a great place because the DJ takes requests (and I make a lot of requests). Lots of dancing, great times!


On Sunday, Mike and I spent a good amount of time cleaning our apartment. I consider myself pretty lucky to have a husband who splits the cleaning duties with me! I do have to say, I am a master at cleaning bathrooms- thanks to a high school summer job I had cleaning bathrooms at the amusement park, Valleyfair! Mike is a great duster and can vacuum with the best of them =).
We are very excited for this week to be over, being the last week before winter break. We are looking forward to spending the holidays with our families and having a little time off.
T- 4 days... but who's counting!

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days.
