Honeymoon Day 1...

So... I was totally going to write my first cooking post, but our dinner plans changed, so, I'll share some pics from the honeymoon! The Monday after the wedding Mike and I hopped on a plane to Maui, HI! Hawaii was actually a pretty easy choice for us. We both had never been before and figured we wouldn't have a chance again for a long time, so... Hawaii it was!

The view from our hotel... it was incredible. Both of us have taken tropical vacations before but I don't think any of the places we've been are as beautiful as Hawaii. The most amazing thing is the trees have these gorgeous flowers blooming all over and a constant breeze so literally everywhere you go smells incredible!









Our first day... couldn't have asked for better weather. Thoughts on this day... actually Mike and I didn't do much thinking or talking on this day... we had been on wedding overload for so long we were so thankful to lie on the beach with fruity drinks and not have to talk or smile to anyone!! That sounds bad... but it's so true... don't worry... by day 2 we were okay again, that's just how relaxing it is there!

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. I have found my favorite things about Iowa categorize themselves into seasons, which is how I will present this lovely state to you today. Summer/Fall One of our absolute favorite things about Des Moines is the farmer’s market ! Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
