Winning the Lottery

This post is meant to piggy-back off the last one.

Along with my trip to Wisconsin this weekend, I was able to spend an evening with the fam on Thursday night. Seeing how we didn't spend Christmas together this year, I had some goodies for mom, dad, and little bro to open once I got there. It was just the four of us, and I have to admit, it was kind of nice (I tried to convince Mike to come to WI with us ladies so he could be our sober cab but for some reason he was not as excited as I was about this idea). I think the highlight for me was driving my brother to school on Friday morning. He was complaining about how annoying the bus was (typical freshmen) but I felt bad for him so I offered to drive him, to ease his suffering for one day, and you know what... it made me wish I could do it more often. I love that kid. I can never explain the enormous amount of comfort I feel whenever I head home. It was the perfect way to start the weekend.

I returned home on Sunday to a husband who had weekend filled with craziness... the kind that only  helped him, and me, realize how stable, and genuine, and completely and totally in love with one another we truly are.

The comfort and love of my family,
a weekend with a group of fabulous girlfriends who I've known for close to an entire decade and know me inside and out,
and coming home to my favorite person in the world and proceeding to fall sound asleep in his arms.

Not gonna lie, I feel as if I've won the lottery.

This must be what they call, happily ever after.
