Think Happy Thoughts

Friends, I'm having a worrying kind of day... and I mean, really worrying. Every once in a while I go through this. It used to be a much bigger deal, but nowadays it's over pretty quickly. It started when I took a look at my calendar for the week, I use Google Calendar which I love... I have my life to-do's neatly organized by color (it makes me proud... I'm weird like that).

Except today, I did not feel happy. When it finally loaded, the amount of colors present on the screen made me see brown... it was terrible.

Now, I won't go into a long drawn out post about how busy I am so you can read it thinking I don't understand how busy other people are. I get it, we all have responsibilities and they can all make us spend a day, or longer, in a worrying kind of state. What I really need to do is remain focused. This, is where I'll need your help. I'm looking to make a book list for 2011. *I know, you may be thinking, "what?! she's crazy, doesn't this only add things to her to-do list?" and you're right... but truthfully, reading serves as a great escape for me.* So, here is what I have so far...

A Million Little Pieces
Angelology
The Girl Who Played With Fire (i was not able to finish this over winter break, big bummer)
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest

The first two are book club books and there is one more to add to the list, but I can't think of the title right now.

So, what are some of the best books you've read? I'm open to anything... anything in particular that has been really captivating, send the titles my way. And if you're in my boat and you have a haze of colors coming your way for the beginning phase of 2011, best of luck to you!

  1. "The Art of Choosing" by Sheena Iyengar

"The Monkey Wrench Gang" by Edward Abbey
Might not be your style of read.

If your interested in womans movements on a small but grand scale. "Breaking into the Current: Boat woman of the Grand Canyon" is very good.
