Minute to Win It Party
Last night Mike and I were invited to participate in a Minute to Win It party and had so.much.fun!!!! For those of you who haven't seen the show on NBC, contestants are given 1 minute to complete simple, and quite ridiculous tasks. You can find the list of tasks here, so our friends decided to create an at-home version.
We had a total of 10 challenges to complete, if we made it to the end. Throughout the challenges, if you weren't able to complete the task you could use a total of 3 livesavers (or do-overs) or you could use your freebie challenge which meant you could bow out if the challenge was too hard. We were all playing for the coveted trophy sitting on top of the game board. Needless to say, once we all saw the prize... it was game on.
Here I am playing Junk in the Trunk. I have an empty kleenex box filled with ping-pong balls tied to my waist. The task was to shake-rattle-and roll my body to get all the ping-pong balls out of the kleenex box. I quickly realized that jumping up and down was going to do the trick so I gave my very best hippie shakes and was able to complete the task successfully. This challenge was hilarious! With boxes and balls though, it did become quite inappropriate, and you know there were adult beverages involved too, dirty dirty dirty =).
Mike here, is working hard on the Breakfast Scramble challenge. The front part of a cereal box was cut into puzzle pieces to them be, correctly, put back together. Sound easy? This was the challenge that separated the boys from the men. Almost everyone needed to use at least one lifesaver and I had to use my freebie! Damn Fruit Loops got the best of me.
And here is where I, sadly, exited the competition. Oreo Eating- place one Oreo on your forehead and maneuver the Oreo down your face and into your mouth. Oh, and you can't use your hands! Unfortunately, this did me in. Mike, on the other hand, made it to the final challenge... stacking 3 golf balls on top of one another. Mike and Annie were the ones competing at this point and, sadly, neither could complete the task successfully in a minute... or otherwise. Luckily, we had a clear decision making process for a tie, each players name will be placed in a container and whoever is pulled out is the winner.
Mike's name was not pulled out of the container... tough break man, tough break. We were happy for Annie though, she put up a good fight all the way to the end! The Penteks went home with two participant ribbons... awesome =).
The funniest challenge was the Elephant Walk where you had to place a a baseball in one leg of a pair of panty-hose and place the panty-hose on your head. You then proceed to swing the ball to knock down 6 bottles of water, one at a time. It was so funny and I have a video of it but can't figure out how to upload the video! If I figure it out, I'll post later =).
What a great time!
