Got propane?
Saturday marked our very first ICubs game of the season! We decided to take advantage of our beautiful courtyard and attempt a barbecue of sorts with our friends. We had all the fixins for a great meal: hot dogs, chips, and some fresh fruit. Mike fired up our camping grill (I'm kicking myself for not taking any pictures because it was quite a sight: Picture a good sized brick patio and Mike hunched over a grill the size of a small cooler... doesn't exactly scream, "I am man with grill and beef"). Just as the first set of dogs were reaching their grilled perfection we hear... "I think the grill turned itself off?"
Why you may ask... because we ran out of propane. Although it really wasn't a big deal it was hard not to think, "You've got to be kidding me... I was in charge of the food leaving you in charge of one thing..." but, whatever... it all turned out ok =)!
Needless to say, our wonderful grill out went from an actual grill to a grill pan over our stove, thanks Calphalon! The dogs still turned out great and when we finished we headed out to the baseball game, a mere 2 blocks from our humble abode!
Although I am not a huge sports fan I do thoroughly enjoy baseball games. The atmosphere is unbeatable and who can top an ice cold beer and peanuts at the ball park. The Cubs won the game and we even got to enjoy fireworks which usually only happen after their Friday night games! What a great way to spend a Saturday night... can't wait for more to come this summer.
PS- Watching baseball @ Principal Park will always, always hold a special place in my heart as it was one of events Mike scheduled the night he proposed. It's been a year and ten months since that blessed event and it still gives me chills to think about.
