The end of the road

Friday was the last day Mike could take a personal day from work so he was sure to take full advantage. He had the idea to head up to Ames on Thursday night (wouldn't want to waste a minute now would we?!) to do some golfing on Friday with friends with the plan that I would then meet them up there after finishing work on Friday. The boys had their fun and once I arrived we headed out for the evening.

We reached our first stop to find you had two options for a drink: an 8 oz cup for $3.00 or a "fishbowl" (aka restaurant pitcher) for $5.00... um, duh- gotta love college towns. As he was preparing my fishbowl I asked, "what kind of vodka do you put in the fishbowl?" big huge mistake His response, "Hawkeye." I must have made a face without realizing because he followed this by saying, "don't worry ma'am, we are sure to provide the best bottles of 2010 Hawkeye has to offer," then he chuckled because this was apparently very funny.

Sadly, I could barely drink my fishbowl. When did I become such a vodka snob? I was looking around at the other people who were so happy as they ingested their fishbowls... I felt so old. Sorry Hawkeye, this marks the end of our affair with one another, thanks for the memories or lack thereof.

Mmmm, now this is more like it. I do loves me some Absolut.=)
