It's the unofficial start to summer!

Happy Friday everyone and start to your 3 day weekend!

I hope everyone has something special planned whether it be spending time with family or catching up on some much needed R&R (I seriously think it's possible some of us are still sleep deprived from those awful winter months a while back, right?!).

I'm headed up to Minnie this weekend to do some bridesmaid dress shopping with my best friend Leah! I am so excited for this much needed girl time. I also am pumped to assist in the planning of someone else's wedding! That might sound bad, and don't get me wrong I loved planning my wedding, but I was one of the first one of my close friends to be married and... let's just say... I don't think I did it justice. Leah is one of those gals that has an eye for things that make sense together so I am very eager to hear what she has planned.

Mike will join me in Minnie on Saturday after watching the Roosevelt High School boys soccer team fight for a chance to advance towards the state finals. After Saturday evening, we are looking forward to some rest and relaxation and the Dean household. I'm excited to see the fam and give a little congrats to my younger brother who was awards the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence (or something of the sorts) for scoring in the top 85th percentile of his class (to be honest, it's amazing we're brother and sister... I think at the end of 8th grade I was awarded the Best of luck to you in life, you'll learn more if shut your trap, hehe). We're very proud of him and can't wait to give him a big 'ol pat on the back.

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
