Local Pride

Apparently, between yesterday's post, today's post, and what I have planned for tomorrow (do I have you on the edge of your seat?), this has become a week of finding inspiration from those around us.

I hit the gym after work yesterday and was on the treadmill, just running away (get it... 'cause I actually wasn't running anywhere, haha) when this story was previewed on the news and I knew I had  to watch. So, during the commercial I switched my headphones from my ipod to the little tv on the treadmill and kept truckin' along. The story featured a Des Moines woman who, after having her second child, decided to make a huge change in her life. I should've known it was a mistake to listen to this while I was still running because stories like this always choke me right up and, sure enough, I started to cry. Right there. On the treadmill. With people all around me. Crying while running to a story no one else could hear and therefore couldn't possibly understand unless they were watching it themselves (and the two people around me who did stare at me in my time of complete awkwardness were, of course, not watching and therefore probably thought I was absolutely crazy).

Anyways, the cool thing about this woman is she has her own blog which you can access right from this blog! Just find the Blog List on the right and click on A Weight-y Life. You can read all about her, her success, and even hear some advice she has to others about weight loss and also living your best life. You may want to make sure you're stationary while reading and have a box of tissue nearby. You know, in case you start to cry and you don't want anyone around you thinking you're crazy like me.
