A Newlywed Truth
Ask and You Shall Receive
Can you believe that after 2 1/2 years of being married (+ 6 years of dating b.v) we're still discovering new things about each other? Well believe it.
Did you know you can suggest your man take your car to run an errand, mention that it needs gas, and he'll fill up the tank for you while he's out? Well believe it.
Last night, while I was cleaning up after dinner, Mike was getting ready to head out to Target. He was kind of grumbling about having to run out so I suggested he take my car because I'm listening to the 7th Harry Potter (for like, the 7th time) and I was at a really good part I knew he'd enjoy too. Then, a light bulb went off in my head in the form of a low-gas light reminding me I actually needed gas. This is when, in my head, I thought, 'oh, nevermind, I need gas and you won't be too happy if I suggest you take my car only to find out I also need gas.' Turns out, this is where I became sort of clever and turned my thoughts into these actual words, "and while you're out in my car you can stop and fill up my gas tank." At this point, I laughed (because in all honestly I truly was kidding for the sole reason that if Mike suggested something like this to me, I would laugh at him) and told him I was kidding. Much to my surprise, I hopped in the car this morning and realized, he actually did it!
I should probably interject here and say I am not being sarcastic when I say this (which I know I can be pretty much all the time). I'm also not saying Mike doesn't do things for me, he does a lot for me, but this was a first and I'm still surprised how happy it made me. Maybe because it was a surprise, maybe because he did it for me even though he knew I was kidding, I'm not sure but it was a great way to start my Tuesday. I wonder what else I can get him to do? haha
