Heat Wave
Last week it was hotter here in Iowa than it was in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is in the desert. We are not. It should never be hotter here than it is in the desert. Ever.
This picture of Jackson sums up how we all feel about this excessive heat. It's caused indoor recess at school and limited walks for J-man which causes all kinds of excessive energy for little ones and further exhaustion for the adults in charge of the little ones. To say I'm tired of this heat is an understatement. I'm ready for fall and even snow (I know... gasp, but I am... you know how much I love my sweatpants so this can't come as a surprise).
Last week the meteorologist said typically when a heat wave like this arrives at this time it means we'll have an early freeze. Here's hoping she's right. Until then, I shall stare at this lovely picture and dream of cooler temps, and doing my hair in the morning and having it stay nice and done all day (humidity is my hair's worst enemy, grrrrrrrr).
