Showers Galore
When all was said and done, Baby P actually received 4 baby showers! 2 away with family and friends and 2 local with friends and co workers.
The first shower was put together by my closest girlfriends up in Minnesota. It was a quaint brunch-eon at a great restaurant in my hometown. Everyone was gathered around a large round table and we had a great time catching up with one another and talking all things baby. I was beaming and still am thinking back on it. Words can't express how much a love these people :).
Our second shower was in Illinois with Mike's side of the family and was put together by Mike's sister, Aunt Missy and mom. It was a Wizard of Oz theme which I went bonkers over! The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie so when I received the invitation and discovered this would be the theme of the shower I couldn't believe it, it was so perfect! This table was in the entryway. The dress and little shoes were made by my grandma for me when I was 3 years old. My mom and I thought they'd be great "party decor" to show just how deep my love is for Dorothy and Toto :), Unfortunately I don't have any other pictures but the decor and the spread were just wonderful. It was great to spend time with everyone in the family and celebrate baby P!
The 3rd shower was the brain child of a girl on Mike's adult league soccer team. She suggested they throw a diaper keg for baby P... and so they did! It was hilarious and I was super impressed with the diaper cake shown here in the pic. It was very nicely displayed on a table in the house but of course I didn't get a picture of it. We ended up with a ton of diapers and wipes which is awesome, we won't have to buy diapers for a while. More importantly, the soccer team was able to come together for a night of keg drinking fun and festivities in celebration of baby P. They're a fun crowd and they love Mike which is fun to see.
The final shower to celebrate baby was my school shower. It was a book shower which was perfect because baby P's library was seriously lacking! It was a joint shower so the pink on the cake was for our ELL teacher who is due in July and the yellow is for baby P. We got so many excellent books that I can't wait to read to baby.
So there you have it, the whirlwind of showers to celebrate baby. What fun. We are so very blessed to have the friends and family we do. :)
