Nursery Update

One positive to come from going past our due date was the delivery of our nursery rocking chair/recliner. We ordered it way back in March but it took 12 weeks to come in which meant it was scheduled to arrive the week after baby's due date. Lucky for us the chair came right on time (to the date, impressive huh!) so we picked it up, hauled it home, and have been admiring it ever since. This also made me realize we've added some other things to the nursery since the last time I posted too so without further ado, here's the nursery in it's "baby ready state".

I hung the sign from my MN shower from the valance on the window. It says Little Pentek and looks super cute. I plan to hang curtains there eventually but want to wait until we know whether baby is a sister or a mister.

The changing table area is all set to go with our pad and wipe dispenser. We also have a sound machine and monitor ready for use too.

I purchased this mobile for Baby a while back. A few women I babysat for back in the day had a ton of baby toys and supplies from Manhattan Toy and, truth be told, I've been nothing but ecstatic to purchase the same things for Baby P. Crazy, I know but oh well. :) Also, calm down, the boppy and blankie draped on the side of the crib will not stay but they're washed and ready to go so I put them in the crib for safe keeping.

Here's a close up of the chair. It's a rocker, glider, and recliner! The rocking and gliding only work when it's not reclined so that's why we also have the small footstool in there too. We got the chair at a local store here in Des Moines but the brand is Best Chairs- Storytime Series. It's very comfortable and I'm excited to use it when Baby P arrives.

This room will continue to evolve, obviously. Over this summer plan to purchase some new linens (curtains, crib sheet and changing table cover) and artwork for the empty frames to match the colors we'd like to incorporate for a boy or girl. We need a side table next to the recliner which will be here soon (it's just the nightstand that matches the Hemnes dresser from IKEA). I also need to find a way to organize books and toys. I have ideas swimming around in my head but want to take my time deciding what to buy because I want to be sure it can grow with Baby P.

So there you have it. The dresser is all stocked too with diapers, burp clothes, socks, extra blankies, freshly washed clothes, just about everything we'll need. Now we just need the damn baby :). Soon enough, soon enough.
