Oops!

Woah, things in the past two weeks have been busy. Mainly, the weekends which is when I've been able to log time on the 'ol blog here. Though busy, these past two-three weeks have been so much fun. We had both baby showers for baby P the first in Minnesota and the second in Illinois. They were wonderful, and we feel so very loved by our family and friends. I'll be back to write about the showers later.

Another thing that happened this month... time flew by. Here I am typing with my arms resting around an ever growing belly that is now moving and shifting based on what I can only guess is track practice within. I'm excited to meet this little one and watch their movements on the outside because I can certainly feel all the rolls, jabs, kicks, and turns right now. All of a sudden (sort of) I sit here at 34 weeks. 6 weeks to go. Under 50 days. Holy sh*t. We're apparently in the home stretch. Luckily, things at home really are in great shape. Thanks to our fantastic showers and slow but steady purchases over the last many months Baby P would have plenty of clothes, lovies, places to cuddle up in, and even space for miscellaneous baby items if they were to arrive today (which is not an invitation little one, I'm just saying). Overall preparedness however, that's a different story. We are very excited for the next phase but there is still a certain level of apprehension which I'm not sure will ever go away. It's mostly just anticipation for the unknown. My next doctors appointment is May 5th and after that I will start going once a week which I think will help us wrap our brains around everything better. *Side note, when I scheduled my appointment for the 5th they said can you make it at 3:40 to which I said, "sure, it's not like I'll be rushing out to enjoy margaritas on a patio anywhere, haha!" and the ladies at the desk were not amused. tough crowd at the OB :)

One thing I really hope to do in the coming weeks is wrap up my thoughts on this pregnancy which will include getting the nursery ready, the showers as I mentioned, and our "babymoon" which we took together over winter break. I want to be sure all of this is documented before baby comes because, from what I've been told, this will limit my time and my memory for such events that happened hours before let alone months before. So, get excited for that. :)

Until then, I'll leave you with this picture because I think it's so cute.

Speaking of Jackson, Mike was away this weekend at a soccer tournament so Jackson and I had lots of quality time together. He knew Mike was gone so he amped up his protectiveness of me while he was gone. I could tell because every time I moved (literally, even if I was just shifting positions on the couch) his head snapped up from whatever he was doing to watch me. He does not do this when Mike and are both here especially if he's gnawing on a bone or treat.  It was pretty cute :).
