Weekend Update
Yesterday was positively beautiful here in Des Moines. Mike unfortunately had a 12 hour day including class, adult soccer, and coaching leaving Jackson and I alone to enjoy the day together. And so we did.
We enjoyed a nice long walk together on the trail near our house. Surprisingly there weren't too many people out which is actually kind of nice for Jackson, less distractions. And by distractions I mean less opportunities for him to launch his body towards strangers in excitement to meet a new friend. This picture proves it was pretty empty... he even had time to pose for a picture for his mama!
He loves picking up sticks he finds along the way. The bigger the stick, the more determined he is to figure out a way to carry it along. It's quite funny actually and once he does get a hold of a stick he prances along with pride at his accomplishment. Such a silly puppy.
The walk must have been just what he needed because he took a nice long snooze and was pretty mellow for the rest of the night (always a good thing for us). After dinner he brought his ball over to me to play fetch and he walked the whole time then finally plopped down in my lap for scratches which is our favorite late night activity.
I hope your weekend was a pleasant one. Let's hope other places around the country get the memo that it is now officially spring time :).
