Long Week, Still Thankful

#12- Old Friends
One of my best and oldest friends is making a big move across country with her husband (and her dog) and I was lucky enough to enjoy a visit with her as she passed through Des Moines. It was so wonderful to catch up and spend some time together especially since we only get to see each other once in a blue moon. She's doing awesome and I'm so excited that she's moving a bit closer so we can hopefully see each other more often. Old friends are the best, aren't they?

#13- My Health
Mike and I recently set up a life insurance policy and had to go through the health screener to qualify; you know the kind where you have a million little boxes to check about your entire health history? Well, it served as a nice reminder that I definitely take my health for granted on a regular basis. I'm especially grateful I haven't even been sick in a long time (knock on wood).

#14- Book Club
I've been a part of a book club since moving to Des Moines after college. We get together about once a month and it's a really eclectic group of ladies. We started as a group of friends who knew each other in college and have since evolved to include co-workers and friends of friends of friends, etc. It's super fun and although we tease that we enjoy drinking wine together as much as we read/discuss books, I'd say we're pretty legit. It's a great group of girls and I've really enjoyed getting to know them and reading with them (insert nerd flag).

#15- Weekly TV Staples
At the moment this includes Modern Family and Glee. Modern Family has got to be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. I don't laugh out loud often but it's almost a guarantee during every episode, it's just.so.funny. As for Glee, I'm not exactly sure I love the new format but I'm getting used to it. Plus tonight they did Grease and it was awesome. What can I say, I'm a sucker for singing and dancing. And dysfunctionally-functional families.

Oh, and for the 15th and a half thing I'm most thankful for is that tomorrow is Friday. It's been a long week my friends and I'm always thankful that eventually, Friday comes.
