#6- Inspiration
My #6 on my list of thankfulness includes a shout out to a few friends who continually inspire myself and countless others.
You've heard about them before when I wrote about this event but since then everything about this organization has become bigger, better, and all the more inspiring.
The only way to give you an accurate picture of why I'm so thankful for Movement 515 (which is the Des Moines area code) this post needs to be a little more interactive.
First, learn more about the work they do with kids in Des Moines by watching this...
Next you'll need to watch this clip from the students themselves promoting their first performance of the year...
Finally, learn more about the actual event by viewing this article which, funnily enough, also has a few clips from the show itself.
While I'm sure no further explanation is needed, I must mention I'm personally so thankful for Kristopher and Emily and for everything they do because it serves as a constant reminder of why I do what I do. It's easy in the world of education to bogged down with negativity, how will these students every learn what they're supposed to? how will I ever get all this done in this amount of time? we have so few resources... to name a few, but Movement 515 offers a light at the end of the tunnel and brings me back to the reality that it all comes down to doing whats right for the kids. And their totally worth it.
