Grown Up and Not So Much

Welcome, I hope you're having a nice weekend and I hope you enjoy today's interesting mix of thankfulness.

#16- Teamwork
As soon as we realized our house needed costly repairs, Mike and I had to do some serious budget problem solving to figure out how we were going to make things work. It was daunting at first but I'm proud to report we were able to create a plan and have made the best of the situation. What I'm most thankful for in this situation is the teamwork mentality Mike and I have when we're faced with situations like this (and many others for that matter). It'd be very easy for us to turn on each other, place blame, or even throw hands in the air and place all responsibility to fix the situation on one person but we don't react this way at all in fact it's quite opposite. We adopt the mentality that we "got into this mess together and we'll get out of it stronger," and for this I'm so, so thankful. It makes dealing with things a lot easier, even eventually enjoyable, and we do in fact become stronger. We make me so proud =).

#17- Master's Completed
This may contradict everything I said above but today I'm feeling thankful I completed my masters degree because Mike has class all day today and part of tomorrow and my agenda for the weekend is wide open. I'm not sure if I'm particularly proud of this fact but when Mike's alarm clock goes off on days he has class I feel really great about the fact that I don't have to get up for anything. And I definitely rub it in too. It's not really mature of me but I don't really care. It was mature of me to complete my master's degree so now I get to enjoy a luxurious life of ample free time and sleeping in 'cause I'm done. Life is good.
