Whoa,
did you know it's May? Scratch that, did you know it's mid- May? Hmm, me either.
What on earth happened?! It seems our time without power was just the beginning of our lives becoming a bit crazy. So crazy, in fact, that almost a whole month has gone by in what I swear was only a mere blink. I wish I could say this month hiatus was filled with crazy-cool things but as it turns out, we're not that crazy or cool.
So what have we been up to?
- Aside from the fact that it's the end of the school year (which is busy enough as it is), Mikes time outside of school hours have been spent coaching the Roosevelt Varsity Boys Soccer team through a successful season. Mike has spent the last four years as the freshmen coach but this year moved into the assistant varsity coach position. He's enjoying it but will be the first to say the time commitment is an increase from what he's used to.
- Around the time I fell off the blog-o-sphere, I made a trip to Minnesota to honor my brothers confirmation. He's turning into quite an impressive young man (as we always knew he would) and it hit while I was there, this is really only the beginning of events we'll honor for him in the next few years which makes me so excited for him.
- I attended my first ever "business trip" in Schaumburg, IL. Truth be told, traveling for work is not my thing. It was an education conference so I learned a lot which was good but I prefer to return home after a day of work, not to a hotel room. No fun.
- Mike and I spent last weekend in Minneapolis with many of our closest friends celebrating one of our first 30th birthdays. The summer of 2013 will mark the beginning of the year we'll all turn 30 so naturally we started planning a big trip for all of us to take to celebrate together. We're not positive what it will entail but I'm already counting down the days =).
Speaking of closest friends, for those of you who were super excited to see I had finally udpated this bad boy... you can thank our great friend Ojash for the lovely comment on the post prior to this one. Ojash- thanks for reminding me of how much I miss you and how much I need to brush up on my smart-a**ness before your triumphant return in June. No worries though, I'll be ready ;).
'Tis all for now, I promise to return before another month flies by. Hope all is well, it's good to be back.
