Rockin My World
This past weekend I was flyin solo in the humble abode while Mike traveled east to the Windy City for a bachelor party (Congrats Bob, we can't wait for September!). Truthfully, I was looking forward to the time alone. I had a lot of reading to do for school and I had a list of organizational tasks to tend to at home that required the mind capacity that can only come from multiple mugs of coffee. Usually, a to do list like this is best accomplished by choosing a few of my Go To movies. You know... the ones you can have playing but have seen so many times you don't actually have to watch. This weekend, however, I decided to utilize a few resources that have been presented to me since moving into our new home.
First, we have finally upgraded to a DVR, are we jumping on a bandwagon or total "living in the dark age losers"?. This meant I had hours of New Jersey housewives, Rachael Ray, and Ellen to last me a while. It was glorious... and I'm totally hooked. =)
Second, we've also decided to create an account with Netflix. This was actually something we discussed for a while before moving. We figured it'd be a great, inexpensive investment to accompany our new "not-so-urban" home where, inevitably, the nights we used to head down to a bar for a dinner and drinks will be traded for movie/game nights together enjoying homemade cocktails. Truth be told, we're actually excited for this trade. We figure paying the Netflix is much more economical than a bar tab, plus, we can always indulge ourselves seeing as how we're only a $5 dollar cab ride from where we used to live. I felt completely tech-savvy when I figured out how to stream the Netflix through Mike's Xbox (I know this probably sounds stupid, but I rarely touch the Xbox because I think its entirely too violent... luckily I have discovered its softer side...) and, let's just say... we totally got our money's worth this weekend! I spent the better part of the weekend enjoying the pure pleasure of... Glee: Season 1! And, I'm happy to say, the hall closet, our guest room closet, the office, and the storage space downstairs are looking splendid. Not bad for a solo weekend at home.
Side note- I forgot how amazing the Madonna episode was... o.m.g
What can I say, I heart DVR and Netflix.
