Looking Back, Part 2
The day before our wedding was filled with very typical "day before your wedding" activities. The boys spent the morning golfing, and when I say boys... I mean about 20 of them. There were dads, brothers, uncles, grandparents, groomsmen, and of course Mike. While the boys kept busy, I spent the morning with the ladies at the nail salon! After nails we went out for a girls luncheon. It was great, I was surrounded by my favorite ladies... it all felt very bridal and I loved it!
Would you believe this was my moms first time getting her nails done?! I think she liked it. =)
The time between nails and the rehearsal dinner was really busy but I can't for the life of me remember what we did. I know my mom and aunt headed to the rehearsal dinner spot to arrange the centerpieces but that's about all I got for that moment in time! The Friday night activities were quite extensive so bear with me.
Everything was smooth sailing at the rehearsal.
The Deacon commented on how fancy everyone looked for a rehearsal, but I couldn't tell if it was a compliment or not??
Mother and Father of the Bride.
I think this picture was the first to surface post-festivities. Apparently, this was very funny to people as it looks like I'm telling Mike off and he looks very afraid. I'm pretty sure that is not what is going on, but everyone begs to differ.
The dinner took place at the Minnetonka Country Club. Do you see the blue napkins? I was told by their event planner to go with blue because, "you don't want the napkins at your rehearsal dinner to be the same color as the ones at your reception." Frankly, this was the most ridiculous think I'd ever heard but went with it because it was easier than a rebuttal.
Mike and I decided I would give the speech on this night because the crowd was more intimate and I tend to be long winded (I know, can you believe that?! ME?!!) I actually can remember what I meant to say but I think it came out somewhat fragmented because I was kind of nervous. I think I did ok though, hopefully it made sense.
The flowers came from CostCo.! You can order gerbera daisies in bulk and then arrange them yourself for pretty cheap. The only thing they mention is that they can't guarantee colors, but we wanted an assortment anyways so it worked. Plus, the multi-color arrangements matched the blue napkins... thank goodness!
After dinner we headed to the hotel. Mike's parents set up a social gathering of sorts in one of the rooms connected to the bar at the hotel. This was an idea we bounced around and finally decided was a good one, again, because there were so many people from out of town. Mike's parents set up host couples to be in charge until we arrived so when we got there, we received a round of applause from everyone. It was so fun and made me so freakin' excited for the things to come. At the end of the night, Mike and I said our goodbyes and I had butterflies all over in my stomach knowing that the next time we saw each other I'd be in a wedding dress and he'd be in a tux. It was a crazy feeling... I can't really do it justice, but it was definitely the most excited I had ever been. Everything had gone so smoothly up until that point and I remember thinking on that night, well... tomorrow will come whether we're ready or not! Although we had everything taken care of and ready you can't help but be nervous.
I remember climbing into bed around midnight and by the grace of god, I actually slept about 6 hours that night.
Up next... the big day! Stay tuned...

I'm pretty sure that you were telling Mike he better not step on your beautiful train when you were walking around the alter :)
