Happy Birthday!
Last Sunday was Mike's birthday but it was not just any birthday... it was his 30th birthday. Woah.
I wish I could say he's getting a huge celebration (or the celebration he requested about a year ago in which everyone who wanted to come meets up in Las Vegas to celebrate his 30th) but sadly between baby and grad. school it just didn't happen. He DID however receive probably the greatest gift he'll ever receive for any birthday from here on out...
a sweet new car! This particular purchase has been a long time coming for Mike. He's always loved SUV's, the 4Runner particularly, but has been stuck driving a Mazda6 since we got married. Don't get me wrong, the car was a great car, certainly nothing to complain about, but Mike was never completely a fan and always longed for the day he could finally move up into the world of his very own SUV. Well, like I said, the day finally came. He's in love and I have to say he so deserves it. Of course this purchase helps to serve our growing family much better than his car did which was the main reason for the purchase but Mike also got his "dream car" at the same time which makes this a pretty sweet birthday gift too. Fingers crossed this is as large of a vehicle as we'll need for the next many years. An added bonus... Jackson has his own window in the back. You can barely see him (but you get a nice shot of his tongue hanging out after our walk :) but I think he likes it too :).
Happiest of birthdays to you Mike! Thank you for letting me spend the last 10 birthdays with you, here's to many, many more and eventually... one hell of a party just like you requested. :)
