We Survived

We returned late last night from our trip to Las Vegas and let me just say, it was quite an adventure! We were invited to join my uncle who is a frequent visitor of Vegas and happens to know a few select people who made our trip drastically different than the one Mike and I took, just the two of us, last year.

For example, we spent our days at the pool enjoying the luxuries of an exclusive pool with a private cabana eating lobster tacos.



Our evening adventures included nothing but private tables and bottle service.





We went to Moon in The Palms and Club Nikki at Nikki Beach in the Tropicana. Moon was amazing because the roof opened above the dance floor! 

All in all, it was a wonderful vacation and I had the best time catching up with one of my favorite aunt and uncle duo. Below are some other favorite shots from the trip...


... so, I go to use the restroom at Moon and come back to find out Mike had the opportunity to "Dougie" with one of their dancers! Mike was so proud of his accomplishment =).












This trip was a combination graduation present to me for completing my Master's plus a happy two year anniversary to both of us. We had a great time!

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
