Pack it up, Pack it in
Let me begin.
Or start over.
Or unpause.
Or jump around.
Did you know this is my 401st post? It's true. Blogger counts the posts for me, isn't that nice of them? But for the month of September I completed 2. 2 posts. As in 1...2. And I am a bit ashamed but the truth is, we were busy little bees in September. The act of balancing everything required a lot of our energy leaving very little time for blogging and even sleeping on a few occasions. Luckily, the calendar has turned and I'm feeling refreshed and ready to uphold my end of this blogging bargain once again.
And now for the jumping around.
- Mike started his grad. program this fall and has class every other weekend through November. So far so good and by the end of this weekend he'll actually complete his very first class. He hasn't come right out and said it but I'm pretty sure he's the top of his class.
- We spent last weekend at his parents house in Illinois. We ran a 5K on Saturday morning and the weather was unbelievably gorgeous.
- A few weekends ago I went out for a girls night with new work friends. We were sitting and chatting at a table when a guy from a nearby table turned to us and said, "what do you do when you realize the people you're hanging out with boring people?" I looked at him and told him I do not hang out with boring people. I was proud for two reasons: 1) I was quite quick with my response and he looked impressed. 2) This is actually true and it's nice to think about all the people in your life and realize they're pretty fun to be around.
- I finished a book yesterday that I can't wait to share with you.
- I spent the afternoon last Saturday catching up with my great friend Erin. We enjoyed a few cocktails and talked for hours. There's nothing quite like time spent with an old friend like this. Warms me to the core; I just love that girl.
- The weather throughout most of the month of September here in Des Moines was perfect. This is a wonderful payoff to an unbearably warm summer. This weekend it's supposed to be in the 50's and I can't wait.
- I'm very sad I didn't blog about the Iowa vs. Iowa State football back on September 8th. For the record, Iowa State won and all is right with the world for another year.
- Speaking of Iowa State, we're planning to attend the home game next weekend against K-State. Actually, let me rephrase, we're planning our annual tailgate with our college friends next weekend. We won't actually go into the game but we'll have a great time cheering them on from the parking lot.
- So far this week has gone by very slowly so I'm hopeful Friday will come quickly. I hope your week has gone well so far and if not, we're only two days away from the weekend!
