Summer Olympics
My my, quite an impressive showing in London for Team USA! While it's hard to select favorites from a long list of many proud moments I managed to select three of my personal faves.
Mike and I both were particularly impressed with both Missy Franklin's performance and her personal story. How can you not love someone so down to earth and yet so good at what she does.
We hope to see a lot more of her in Rio and maybe even beyond.
One of the most thrilling, and quick for that matter, olympic moments to watch was the womens 4x100 relay team cross the finish line first all while beating the world record time. Awesome.
They are all such beautiful women and I loved their interview shortly after the race, smiles from ear to ear on each one of them!
But the absolute best moment for me was watching Gabby Douglas rise to the top where she took the gold in womens all around gymnastics. Not only is she cute as a button with a contagious smile but she left home after the Beijing olympics to train right here in Iowa!
I'd love to see her return for the 2016 Olympics but one things for sure, this won't be the last time we hear about Liang Chow and his facilities in West Des Moines.
I'm sad to see the games come to an end but London sure went out with a bang during their closing ceremonies... a Spice Girls reunion?!!! Pure genius. Can't wait for the winter games in two years!!
