Officially Official
Okay, it's completely official now... summer break is in full swing in the Pentek home.
My official last day of work was last Tuesday but, being the slightly crazy person I am, I agreed to teach a two day class at the end of last week and attend a class at the beginning of this week. The instructor for my class Monday and Tuesday this week must've known she was the final "thing" standing between work and my summer beginning because she let us out of class at 12:30 yesterday, score! Then, a really funny thing happened. I had every intention of heading to the gym straight from class but at about 11:30 I noticed I wasn't feeling too hot. I was tired. Like, can't even keep my eyes open tired. By the time we were released from class (after a whole hour of me doing everything short of holding my eyelids open with my fingers just to stay awake) I hopped in my car and decided to head home for a short nap before heading to the gym; I had the whole afternoon right? So, what was my rush? Here's the funny part: my short nap turned into a 5 hour slumber. I woke up at 6:00pm, ate a small dinner, barely made it through two of my DVR'ed shows (Real Housewives, duh), and went back to bed at 9:00pm. I literally did not move again until my alarm went off at 5am this morning for my buddy training session at the gym. To recap, thats 13 hours of sleeping in a 16 hour period. Woah
The only thing I can think of to explain this was that body just knew it could finally relax. And relax it did; I don't even remember thinking a single thing during my three hour awake time except, "is it acceptable to go to bed at 9pm on a lovely summer evening?" Luckily, I woke up this morning feeling restored and ready to go.
Welcome Summer Break 2012, it's fabulous to see you.
