Weekend Update
It was a cold and rainy weekend for sure but we managed to warm ourselves up with the company of the MN fam.
We drove up Friday night and hit one helluva storm with hail. We ended up stopping under an overpass because it was coming down so hard we couldn't see an inch in front of us. Our back end was still in the storm and the hail sounded terrible. Poor Jackson... he didn't really freak out at all but he as looking around probably thinking, "what on earth is going on!'. Luckily there was no damage to the car and we made it out of the worst part safely. Sadly, we traveled with the storm all the way from DSM to MSP so we had no break from the rain at all.
Nevertheless, we made it and had yet another wonderful weekend with family. My mom and I hit up the Mall of America on Saturday morning then took Jackson on a really long walk along Lake Minnetonka. It was fun and Jackson was good and tired by the time we made it back which was our goal.
My parents main level has a staircase in the middle and then all other rooms surround the staircase in a pretty open-concept circle. Jackson seemed to really like having all the space to roam. Overall we were very impressed with his behavior though by the time Saturday night rolled around he had been on 3 walks from 4 different people in the fam. so he was pretty pooped. My dad even took him to the neighborhood park and taught him how to conquer "obstacles". He was of course exhausted by the end of the night.
Both of our families have taken to Jackson quite well which makes us so happy. So far he's an excellent traveler and loves exploring new "homes" when we visit. I think his favorite part though is all the extra love and attention he gets :). We got back to Des Moines around 2pm today and he's been walking around looking for his buddies since we got back. A great time had by all!
