Holiday Cheer
I'm not sure what it is about this particular holiday season but I'm like, totally into it.
The music, the lights, the snow, that smell in the air of a fireplace somewhere mixed with cold, and the thought of a nice long break from school looming over our heads... oh man... I"m so excited!
So what are some things that get you into the holiday spirit? Here are some of my all time holiday faves...
Movie: Traditional- Christmas Vacation, Non-Traditional- The Family Stone
Song: Church Song- O Come All Ye Faithful, Fun Song- Sleigh Ride
Tree: Real or Fake... I'm from Minnesota, we only do real trees
Cookie: My Mom's Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies (yes that was supposed to be capitalized like a title because these cookies are epic, but the recipe is top secret)... I also love gingerbread cookies so I plan to make my own this year... I'll let you know how they turn out
Traditions: My parents always let me open one present on Christmas Eve after going to church. We also had our big Christmas feast on Christmas Eve. My dad would make roast beef on the spit (rotisserie), I actually had no idea people ate a Thanksgiving-like meal until I was in high schoolego-centric much?
Memory: Decorating the tree with my mom
How about you?! I'd love to hear some of your holiday favorites!

Those famous cookies have become part of our tradition as well, starting with just me and Carl making them our first Christmas and now Evan too. Your mom shared the recipe! -Liisa
