Fail
Wow.
That was a long break.
Rather than boring you with the details of my absence, I shall sum it up as best I can; I was so not prepared for Thanksgiving to end... but we'll get to that eventually. For now, I shall satisfy your blog-reading-withdrawal by ending my 30 days of thankfulness.
Ready. Set. Go.
#25- My In-laws
I can't remember the exact moment I realized things would work out between Mike and I, but I think it went something like this...
"Hi, I'm Sarah." "Hello, I'm Mike." "What's your major Mike?" "I'm an architecture student." "Oh, that's cool, I'm in elementary education." "Oh really?! My parents and sister are teachers too." sold
I can't really describe how it feels to become a part of a family after 20some years of growing within the comfort of your own blood roots. I remember the first trip I took with Mike and his family to Chattanooga, TN for a wedding. It was the first time I we traveled a long distance and I was so nervous. After the trip (which was fabulous), as I was driving back home, it hit me... I missed them... this family who invited me to be a part of their family trip when they didn't need to... I missed them. It was unexpected and also when I realized if things didn't work out between Mike and I, I'd lose a lot more than just my boyfriend.
Needless to say, things worked out and it's hard for me not to think how lucky I am to be a part of this wonderful family. Next July we will welcome another member to the family as well when Mike's sister gets married. 5 will become 6 and I am so excited for it all. Congratulations Missy and Brian, can't wait to party =).
