Sometimes, your better half makes you so proud.






I have moments where I simply lose myself in thoughts of our future. We have so many things to look forward to that, at times, I simply can't wait for them to get here. Sometimes, I wonder if Mike thinks about these things too.

Tonight, after running errands with Ojash, Mike returned with a few supplies that, quite abruptly, answered my question...
















Ladies and gentlemen, what we have here are materials for making a beer bong. To be fair, he's making this for ISU's Homecoming celebration next weekend, and it appears this particular model will allow three different options for funnel capacity so, you know... he's keeping the ladies in mind.

What Mike has so eloquently outlined for us is one of the reasons we work so well together, I'm a long term thinker and he's the 'immediate future' thinker.

What can I say readers, sometimes he makes me feel so proud. =)

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
