Go State
Friday night we packed up the car for our big homecoming weekend in which we threw caution to the wind and took a trip back to college. It was spectacular.
The logo for this year's homecoming.
We arrived around 7 and went straight to greekland to enjoy the lawn displays then headed to campus town to meet up with friends who were in town for the festivities as well. After a few cheap drinks (gotta love college towns) we called it a night. We had an early start time scheduled for tailgating the next morning so we felt getting some sleep would be the best idea. This was the most un-college thing we did all weekend.
We met up with a bunch of my college sorority sisters in the "legit" tailgating lots early Saturday morning, unloaded the car with the things you need at your tailgate when you're in the "legit" lot and the fun began. A group of us met prior to this weekend to arrange food and supplies so it was sure to be a great time and, let me say, it did not disappoint. The day was filled with so much fun I can't even decide what my favorite part was!
Highlights:
- A sign with pictures from our ISU days
- Flippy cup tournament in which I beat my husband at least 7 times
- Numerous grown up beverages for all via- bong-al-a-Pentek (featured here)
- Yummy food
- Iowa State actually won the game!!
One of the greatest parts of the day however was looking around at the crowd. I couldn't help but feel so proud of all of us. We've evolved into semi-responsible adults and have now turned our once girls-only group into a mix of significant others both old and new. Despite all of this, we can all still host a rockin tailgate party and, truth be told, this makes me the proudest of all! I hope to have pictures soon =).
