I throw my hands up in the air sometimes...

I want to celebrate and live my life!!

This past weekend I took a quick trip north to celebrate a dear college friends bachlorette party. The turnout was great and let me tell you, we showed one of her last nights of single-dom a good time!

Highlights:
1. Using the Twin Cities light rail for the first time.
2. Carrying around cardboard cutouts of the grooms face... in case Kate got lonely.
3. Dancing up a storm, dressed to impress, at a string of dive-bars (we definitely bring the party).
4. A scavenger hunt which ended some-how with me lying on a bar to "serve" the bachlorette a shot... anything for you dear Kate.
5. Visiting a gay club in which I discovered hidden bars and a long bench that looked like a perfect spot to rest my aching feet... until I realized the bench faced a stage... meh, I enjoyed the show (oh stop, this was totally a PG-13 show, calm down)

I was quite impressed not only with the evening but by my group of friends. We are all growing up and most of us made note of subtle differences here and there that showed our maturity (like how the party included an impressive spread of food, if this had been 2-3 years ago, we would've spent that money on more liquor). Our gift to Kate was a photographer for the evening, a great idea... one I'd highly recommend, so I can't wait to see pictures. Until then, I perused my archives and found a great one of the bride-to-be...

this was taken on New Year's Eve 2005, I think she's channeling her future groom. Kate, we love you much and can't wait to celebrate you as Mr. and Mrs.
