My Milkshake Brings all the Boys to the Yard

Were you secretly hoping this post would include Mike and I showing you our best dance moves to this popular track from the early two thousands? Thought so. (ps- the video link is poor quality but it is the clean version of the song... gotta keep things clean around here... I have over 20 viewers on a daily basis. hehe)

Unfortunately, and hopefully not to disappoint too much, I am not actually talking about the song but rather to express how Mr. Jackson has helped us meet more neighbors in the last 3 weeks than we've met in the last two years of living in our house.

So by milkshake I mean Jackson and by boys I mean neighbors and by yard I mean street, sidewalk, yard, wherever we happen to be with our cuter than cute little pup.

As puppy parents I think it's our duty to say it's no surprise to us that he's such a people magnet. I mean honestly, would you be able to walk by this...

I think not.

Anyways, we've met 4 families who live around us we've never spoken to before. Once they see we have a dog and then realize he's a puppy, they want to stop and chat for a while. Everyone has been super nice and it makes me so happy that they want to meet our little guy. We're still working on meeting people calmly which in Jackson's world right now means without nipping and jumping up on new people. The dog owners have been very understanding of this though which makes me feel better but he's a pretty friendly guy so it's hard sometimes to maintain appropriate guest meeting behaviors.

I've mentioned before we have him in puppy classes which has been a great outlet for Jackson plus it gives Mike and I a chance to ask questions while we're in the presence of a dog expert. It's been pretty funny actually because the trainer generally chuckles at our "concerns" and responds basically the same every time, "you have to remember he's a puppy." I guess we need to adjust our expectations a bit. Baby steps.
