Weekend Update

and the weekend isn't even over yet, a new record for me =).

We welcomed some very special visitors this weekend. Mike's sister and her husband traveled here to Iowa to catch the Iowa State vs. Baylor basketball game last night. Originally we hoped to see the game in person and were unfortunately not able to get tickets. Lucky for us they still braved the drive and we had a wonderful time catching up, showing them some of the sights, and watching the game on multiple screens at a Legends downtown. Of course the Cyclone win was a nice way to end a great day.

One of the "local sights" we wanted to show them was the Raygun shop in the East Village. Here you can find a vast array of vintage-like t-shirts sporting cheeky sayings that make you laugh out loud and yell across the store, "oh man, you gotta read this one!" Mike and I walked with three new additions to our wardrobes including this gem I just couldn't pass up...

It had me at U.P. (and in case you can't read it, Wisconsin is saying, "don't worry Michigan, I'll grab the U.P.," and Michigan is saying, " Thanks Man!"). As someone who was born in the U.P. and have many family members still living up there I was blown away to A) actually find something in print that refers to the U.P. in the correct manner (because it stand for Upper Penninsula, we're not just spelling the word UP) and B) how funny and accurate this message is! Just a small shout out to my U.P. relatives and anyone who's a fan of good 'ol Wisconsin/Michigan humor.

Missy and Brian enjoyed the shop as much as we did and all in all, it was a great weekend. We look forward to many more visits both here and to see them in the future. I hope you too are having a great weekend!
