Mike met Seth in the fraternity house. He's a great friend to us and we're sad we can't get to get together more

Danny boy... always adds life to the party!



Ojash is a friend from college who atually lives just across the courtyard from us in our building. Ojash is currently in med school working through his rotations. We absolutely love having him so close, he's always a good time!






Mike and I both had a really special group of friends standing up for us at our wedding. It's a funny thing when you pick people to be in your wedding because those people represent many stages of your life. We both had friends from childhood and college and one thing that Mike and I weren't expecting was how well everyone got along! One pair that really hit it off was Shawn and Danny (on the left). Both of these boys are funny in their own respects (in fact Mike gets mad at me because I am constantly telling him how hilarious I think Danny is, hehe) but for some reason when they got together, their energy just skyrocketed! It was pretty funny to watch, Mike and I kept making eyes at each other thinking ,"who would've thought!"

Will's Arrival

I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about Will's arrival partly because I believe this is a very intimate event meant for an exclusive crowd (in our case this would include just Mike and I) and partly because I wasn't sure I'd really want to relive the event. Welcome to Iowa!

Come one, come all… to a place called Iowa (it’s in the middle, not to be confused with Idaho ). Welcome blog-trotters , I’m happy you are here! My Iowa journey began 8 years ago at Iowa State University and I’m now going on year 4 of my true residency as an Iowan. My husband and I live in the center of the downtown area of Des Moines. We make a living by teaching the youth of America (or future Iowans themselves). We both come from neighboring states (I’m from Minnesota and he’s from Illinois ) but we are thoroughly enjoying our lives here in the capital city. I have found my favorite things about Iowa categorize themselves into seasons, which is how I will present this lovely state to you today. Summer/Fall One of our absolute favorite things about Des Moines is the farmer’s market ! Baby P has Arrived

It's true... the wait is finally over... Baby P has officially joined the world. William Michael Pentek  finally  joined the world on June 18th! Truth be told, I was  completely shocked  it was a boy. I secretly was convinced it was a girl the entire time I was pregnant, honest. I didn't say anything ever because I truly did not care either way, it was just a feeling I had. And I was wrong! Mike was actually the one to announce the sex once he came out and I was in shock!! Here's Will the day after he was born. Here's Will as we packed up to leave the hospital. This picture cracks me up because the look on his face looks so  skeptical as if he's thinking, "are they really going to send me home with these  two?!" haha, can't say I blame him. :) Will is now 12 days old and we've been home for a week and 2 days. He (and we) even survived his first road trip to Minnesota this past weekend. We are adjusting very well...
